Welcome 2019!
As we usher in the new year and anticipate a fresh start, we tend to go hard on healthy living, eating better and exercising. We applaud those of you who take on this challenge. However, we at Stylistic Ladies Boutique want to challenge you, to try a new approach. We want you to challenge your closets. Begin the new year Stylish!
New Year, New Attitude, New Style!
Let me ask you a few simple questions….
•When was the last time you really went through your closet and tried on everything?
•Are there items in your closet that you haven’t worn in more than six months to a year?
•Are there items that you bought on sale that didn’t fit properly, but you intend to loose a few pounds?
•Do you have clothing in your closet that are damaged and out of style?
If your answers to these questions are YES, then it’s time for you to do a closet purge. Out with the old, In with the new, say buh-bye to old clothing.
Seriously, you probably have a closet full of clothes and have absolutely nothing to wear. Realistically speaking, you should only keep the items that fit and make you feel fabulous when you wear them.
What we are simply suggesting is that you try on everything you haven’t worn recently. Yes, everything, even that dress you’ve been saving for 5 years for “just in case.” If you haven’t worn it yet, chances are, you will not and you may be shockingly surprised at how many “just in case” pieces you have that may not even fit anymore.
Once you ruthlessly purge your closet and get rid of all the stuff you don’t wear and don’t love, you can start to rebuild your entire wardrobe into one that you adore. I know that at the end of this exercise, you may be left with 5 or 100 articles of clothing. But, don’t worry about that because the number don’t matter as long as every piece thats left are ones you absolutely love to wear.
Ladies, let’s get this purging started!
There are 4 simple steps to follow when performing a ruthless purge:
-
Empty your entire closet
-
Sort each item into 4 piles, Love it, Maybe, Hate it and Seasonal
-
Assess whats left in you wardrobe
-
Shop! Visit Stylistic Ladies Boutique and allow us to help you get it together.
We will help you curate a wardrobe that meets your needs for almost any occasion without having an overabundance of odds and ends that you will never wear.
Now, what do you do with all of these bags and bags of clothing. We have the answers for that too. Don’t think for a second that performing this exercise is completely wasteful. If you are on social media, there are several groups that allow you to sell used or unused items. Take the opportunity to sell some of your clothing, “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure”. Also, there are various non profit organizations such as The Bahamas Red Cross, The Salvation Army, or Great Commission Ministries who will gladly accept your clothing. Chalk it up as your 2019 good deed!
Remember, the goal in completing this exercise is to help determine your personal style and what key pieces you need to round out your wardrobe.
At Stylistic Ladies Boutique, we are building confidence and making statements in 2019.
